My kids are…not the best at writing or spelling. Yet. They are getting better. However, most of the word combinations possible in this game are going to be CVC words, or CCVC words, so it’s still pretty attainable, even for my kids.
How to play Snap It Up!
There are two decks of cards in the game; word family cards that have a vowel and a consonant, and consonant cards. Word family cards are on the table and turned right-side-up one at a time. Consonant cards are dealt out to the players; each player has a hand of three cards.

If playing as the rules indicate, then flip 1 family card face-up, and everyone tries to make a word using one or more of the cards in their hand, as quickly as they can. Whoever is first gets to keep the cards.
With our kids, we give them each a turn. This lets them go a bit slower and take their time to find words. We don’t give ourselves turns, since we don’t need them, so it ends up going turn, free-for-all, turn, free-for-all, etc. (If all 4 of us are playing.)
