Do your kids love gross things as much as mine? If so, Totally Gross is the perfect science game for them! Totally Gross is a trivia game about all the disgusting parts of science – boogers, poop, farts, toe jam, and more!

This game is perfect for the kid who loves potty jokes. They won’t be able to stop laughing as they answer questions about the disgusting things in life, especially when they land on a “Totally Gross” spot and have to do something nasty!

Keeping score

Totally Gross! board

Totally Gross has a unique way of keeping score. While you use pawns to move around the board, you keep score with slime! The slime seems to come out of your character’s nose like snot, “dripping” to the number of your score.

The slime included will eventually go bad and need to be replaced, but even before then, we decided it was easier to just use extra pawns to keep track of our scores. Besides, this means my kids can play with the slime while we play the game, which they totally love.

Lab card. I’m not too impressed with the “labs” we’ve done, but it’s such a small part of the game that it’s not a big deal for us.

As you move your pawn around the board, you will land on one of three sorts of spaces. Trivia spaces will have a 1, 2, or 3, indicating how many points you get if you answer the question correctly. Totally Gross spaces have you attempt something nasty for one point. And the lab spaces are only completed once someone gets to 10 points.

Favorite Totally Gross! memories

I think my kids’ favorite time was the first time we played the game and I landed on a Totally Gross spot. The card I drew had me pretending to be a fly, laying eggs on a dead body (provided by one of my kids). Being a competitive sort, of course, I attempted this, not wanting to miss out on my point. The kids loved it! Anything to get Mom to do something disgusting!

Totally Gross! is great for kids aged 5-10. As long as they’re still in that gross-loving phase, they’ll love this game. I love that the trivia questions span a wide range of topics and how much my kids learn as we play the game.
